This is a sure favourite with your family – its healthy (diabetic friendly too) and super tasty!
Serves 4-5 people.
RECIPE
- Add 1 cup of the millet mix to 5 cups of water in a pressure cooker. Cook for 2 whistles on a high flame and 2 on a low flame.
- Cut some vegetables to 1 inch length (carrots, beans, knol khol, etc) & boil in salted water till they become soft (don’t overcook) and strain.
- Prepare the seasoning in a separate vessel – heat 2 tbsp ghee, add mustard & cumin seeds. Once they sputter, add curry leaves, cashewnuts, diced capsicum & onion. Add a pinch of asafoetida at the end.
- Add the boiled vegetables, along with the masala mix, salt, a bit of jaggery and the seasoning to the cooked millet mix and boil. Serve the Millet Bisi bele baath hot with some boondi or raitha.
